RESCUE STORY - My story started when I was just four months old. I originally belonged to a couple who had taken me in along with my older brother, Helios. Unfortunately, shortly after they began living together, the couple separated and their work commitments made it difficult for them to care for us. They brought us to the shelter temporarily, promising they would come back for us. But as the weeks and months passed, they never returned, and after multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact them, it became clear that we had been abandoned. I've been through a lot of change, but I'm ready to put the past behind me and find a forever family who will be committed to me for the rest of my life.

I was a little sad during my first few days at the shelter, but thankfully I had my brother Helios, the shelter pack, and lots of caring staff to help me settle in. Before long, my happy personality came shining through! I've grown into an exceptionally affectionate, playful, and confident little girl who is now ready to find a forever family of my very own. I love to play (check me out here and here!)

TEMPERAMENT - I'm a super sweet, affectionate, and playful girl who absolutely loves people (video)! I'm friendly and welcoming when meeting new people (video) and don't seem to have much hesitation around strangers. In fact, I'll happily offer you kisses, join you for some playtime, and roll over for belly rubs! I'm obedient, gentle, and quite adaptable. I love being close to my people and will happily soak up all the affection you're willing to give me. My shelter friends say I'm a remarkably well-balanced girl who is easy to have around. Of course, there will likely be an adjustment period when I go to my forever home in Canada, but with patience, love, and time, my beautiful personality will shine through!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium – I'm a playful girl who enjoys interactive play, treats, and spending time with my people and dog friends, but I'm also calm and easygoing. I'm especially fond of playing on the slide! I'm the kind of pup who can have some fun and then happily settle into a relaxing routine with my family.

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – Yup! I am friendly, affectionate, and playful with people of all kinds, including children (video). I'm a very people-oriented girl who loves attention and affection. I do have a tendency to jump up out of excitement (and desire to give lots of kisses!), so proper introductions will be needed to make sure I thrive.

Same with all dogs, I need to have an adult advocate for my space and make sure I'm supervised around children.

Dogs – Yes! I am very sociable with other dogs. I share space comfortably, play gently, and do very well in environments with multiple dogs. I also don't guard my food, toys, or resting spaces, and I'm happy to share with my canine friends. My brother Helios is also looking for his forever home! Check me out here and here
Cats – Yes! I am calm and respectful around cats - check out my video. I don't bark at them and can peacefully coexist with them.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – Pretty darn good! I am very calm and pleasant on leash. I walk loosely beside my handler, don't pull, and remain calm around environmental distractions. Of course, I'll still need some time to adjust to the sights, sounds, and routines of my new home and neighbourhood. Check me out here, here and here
House trained – Most likely yes! I am a very clean girl in my living space and have a routine of relieving myself twice a day at the shelter. I previously lived in a home, but WCP cannot guarantee that I am currently house trained after my time in the shelter. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me settle back into a routine in my new home :)

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
