DESCRIPTION

Hola! My name is Cleo and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: 1 year approx
Gender: Female
Weight: 8.82 lbs (4kg)
Current Location: Guadalajara, Mexico
RESCUE STORY - I was rescued from a shelter that was severely overcrowded, the same as Sol and Sarita with over 200 dogs under the care of an elderly man who wouldn't accept help. When he passed we were left alone but that allowed several rescuers to step in and save us! I was kept inside the bedroom and when I was found, my rescuers found the place in terrible conditions. I am so grateful I was found and I have been learning so much since then and am so much happier! I'm said to be an active little dog and I will be thrilled to find her forever home!

TEMPERAMENT - I am very affectionate and I love being held and sitting on people's laps. I build trust very quickly, am playful, and I love going for walks. I'm said to be outgoing, sociable and a natural leader! I am generally a happy gal, I am said to be an explorer and I love being around people. I am currently learning manners and I enjoy getting on the couch and bed. When I was first rescued, I used to pee on the bed (due to her past environment), but this has no longer been a recurring issue. I love all toys and am motivated by food!

ENERGY LEVEL – Moderate

GETS ALONG WITH:

Kids – Unknown
Dogs – Yes!
Cats – Unknown, I have been said to bark and chase them when I come acroos them.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

RESOURCE GUARDING: If I am eating and another dog tries to reach into my bowl, I will get upset and growl. However, I am fine sharing treats, snacks, and toys.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – So far I've done well, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!
Crate Trained – Work in progress! Some work may still need to be done on this when I come to Canada and go through such a big change!
House trained – Currently trained to go in the yard and outdoors during walks however some work may still need to be done on this when I come to Canada and go through such a big change! Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)
Car ride – I am said to be enjoy car rides, but windows must be kept rolled up to ensure safety as I may try to jump out!

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
Vaccines: DHPP (core multi-vaccine), rabies, and Bordetella
Tests: Hemoparasites
Dewormers: Yes
Prevention against fleas/ticks & Heartworm Prevention: NexGard
Dental check-up/cleaning: No
Injuries/X-rays/Surgeries: None
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840 (750.00 CAD + applicable taxes) which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
