DESCRIPTION
Say goodbye to life on a chain, Winter.
We're told this big beautiful girl was originally found as a stray and was taken in by people who didn't have a lot of resources. They fed her, tethered her to keep her out of the road, and let her take shelter under their trailer. She had a litter and then was spayed through a low cost program, but there wasn't money for vet care.
Winter appears to be a Saint Bernard or Pyrenees type mix, estimated to be about 5 years old, and she's in pretty rough shape. Her body is covered in wounds, scabs and sores, some caused by fly bites. She's a little thin, at around 80-90 pounds, with icky ears, teeth worn from years of biting at her skin because of fleas, and areas of raw skin and missing hair. Her jaw is crooked and her tongue often hangs out the side from what is likely an old untreated fracture.
But, things are looking up! Her days of living outdoors in extreme temperatures are behind her. Her medical needs are being addressed, and a life of love and care awaits.
We're told Winter is good with kids and cats and hasn't been around other dogs much, but is believed to be good with them. She certainly seems people friendly. Please check our social media pages for updates on her progress. Available soon.
