We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. Nala, 6 years old, spayed female, Rottweiler mix, 46 pounds. She is in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can transport once an adopter is approved.

Nala is the kind of dog everyone hopes to find-a sweet, gentle, well-mannered companion who settles into family life with ease. This beautiful girl has an easygoing personality, wonderful manners, and a heart full of love to give.

Nala enjoys spending time with other dogs and has a fun, playful side, but she's just as happy relaxing once playtime is over. She has met dogs around 20-30 pounds and is always loose-bodied, friendly, and respectful. She's especially gentle with smaller dogs, reads social cues well, and knows when another dog has had enough playtime. On walks, she's completely non-reactive and has excellent leash manners, making every stroll enjoyable.

If you're looking for a family dog, Nala checks every box. She currently lives with children ages 6 and 8 and has also spent time with a 5-year-old. Her foster describes her as incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with kids. She would be a wonderful addition to a home with children of any age.

Nala is fully house-trained and does well in her crate. Like many dogs adjusting after leaving the shelter, she may bark or cry for a few minutes when first crated or left alone, but she settles down quickly. Her foster expects this mild separation anxiety to continue improving as she becomes more comfortable in a consistent routine.

One of Nala's most impressive qualities is how smart she is. She already knows several commands and responds beautifully to verbal cues, including "go lay down," happily heading to her bed when asked. She's eager to please, listens well, and is truly a joy to live with.

She loves playing with balls, enjoys car rides, has no trouble with stairs, and greets everyone she meets with kindness. In fact, her foster says they haven't even heard her bark! Nala walks beautifully on a harness, rides perfectly in the car, and is simply an easy dog to have by your side.

Nala would thrive in a home with a moderate activity level where she can enjoy a daily walk and plenty of time with her people. While she'd likely enjoy having another friendly dog in the home, she doesn't require one.

Her foster has one simple message: "She deserves the best! She is a turnkey pup!" And we couldn't agree more. Nala is affectionate, intelligent, gentle, and ready to become someone's loyal best friend. Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation.
