Norse is a sweet, gentle 9-year-old gentleman who's ready for a fresh start and a family to call his own!
Norse came to rescue after being found on the streets of Houston, Texas, alongside a large group of approximately 40 other dogs. While we don't know much about his life before rescue, we do know that this handsome senior deserves a chance to experience all the love, comfort, and security of a home.
Norse is still getting used to his new surroundings, and so far, he's shown himself to be a quiet, calm, and easygoing boy. He can be a little shy and nervous at first, but he's also very observant and attentive to the people around him. He's taking his time getting comfortable, and we're excited to see more of his personality shine through as he settles in!
At this point, Norse hasn't shown a particularly high energy level and seems content taking things at a slower pace. He's also been very quiet in his kennel. As he becomes more comfortable, we may discover new things he enjoys, whether that's leisurly walks, relaxing with his people, or even a little playtime!
We would love to see Norse find a home with another friendly, confident dog. While he doesn't necessarily depend on another dog for companionship, we think having a calm, well-adjusted canine friend could help him build confidence and feel more secure in his new surroundings. A dog who can show him the ropes while respecting his space would be a wonderful match!
Norse has also met children in his foster home without any signs of aggression. Because he's still a little nervous and learning to trust, a home with older, dog-savvy children would likely be the best fit.
The biggest thing Norse needs is a little patience and understanding. He's still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place, and a family willing to give him time, encouragement, and plenty of love will make all the difference. There's no need to rush him. He deserves the opportunity to settle in and show his true personality at his own pace.
At 9 years young, Norse still has so much love and companionship to offer. He may not be the first dog running up to greet you, but sometimes the most special relationships are the ones that take a little time to grow.
If you have a soft spot for senior dogs, a friendly canine companion, and a little extra love to give, Norse might just be the perfect addition to your family!
