Seven years of waiting. A lifetime of love still ahead.
Leon is a 7-year-old red Toy Poodle who is learning something he’s never really known before: the good life.
Leon came from a puppy mill, so he’s learning to live life as a beloved family pet. He is a shy boy, but underneath that uncertainty is a gentle little guy who is slowly discovering that people can be kind, life can be safe, and new experiences can be wonderful.
One of the most rewarding things is watching Leon relax, even if just for a moment, and letting his bouncy, playful personality peek through. Those little glimpses of the happy dog hiding underneath his shyness are so special—and they make you realize just how much more is waiting to emerge as his confidence grows.
He already has a few favorites—stroller rides are at the top of his list!
Leon is making great strides with his potty training and will need a patient family who understands that trust doesn’t happen overnight. He needs someone willing to go at his pace, celebrate the tiny victories, and give him the time and space to blossom into the dog he is meant to be. A confident, friendly canine companion would be an important part of his journey, helping to show him the ropes as he discovers the joys of being a cherished family member.
A quiet, calm home without young children would be best for Leon. He will also need a securely fenced yard as he continues building confidence and learning about the world.
And if Leon had a signature song, it would have to be “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Because after spending seven years waiting, he is finally discovering that there is a whole world beyond the kennel—and maybe, just maybe, his own little rainbow is waiting at the end of this journey.
Leon doesn’t need someone to “fix” him. He just needs someone willing to show him, one small step at a time, what life is supposed to feel like.
