Boone is a former Ridglan Farms beagle who is discovering the good life, and he's pretty excited about it.
He's shy and skittish, especially at home, but he's making progress every day. He loves being in the same room as his foster mom and follows her around, although he'd prefer to maintain a respectable personal bubble for now.
Treats are his secret weapon. Suddenly, that shy guy becomes a student! Boone has mastered come, sit, and sit pretty, and he's currently working on down and spin.
And here's the BIG thing about Boone:
Boone absolutely needs another dog.
He LOVES other dogs and is much more confident when they are around. A confident canine sibling isn't just preferred, it's required. He enjoys walking and playing with his foster sister, Poppy, and would happily introduce himself to every dog he sees.
New environments can actually bring out Boone's adventurous side. He enjoys car rides and can be surprisingly brave and interested in meeting people when he's somewhere new. Loud cars and noises can still startle him, though. At home, he's still learning that people are safe and that the world isn't scary. Patience is key.
And then there's the sock situation. Boone steals socks. He carries them around like treasured possessions and is clearly building a collection. His other favorite things include cheese, eggs, venison, treats, sniffy walks, car rides, other dogs, and being outside.

Boone is neutered, microchipped, fully vetted, housebroken on a schedule, and working on leash skills. He does best free-roaming rather than crated.
He has a grade 3 heart murmur that causes an occasional cough but otherwise doesn't slow him down. His sensitive tummy is doing well on his current diet, and his veterinary team has a plan for managing his history of vaccine reactions.
The Bottom Line: Boone isn't going to be the dog who runs into your arms on day one. He's going to watch you. Follow you. Think about it. And slowly decide you're okay. But give him a confident dog friend, patient people, some tasty treats, and time, and you'll get to watch this shy little beagle discover who he was always meant to be.
And if a few socks mysteriously disappear along the way? Boone knows nothing about that.
