Ruger - Poodle and Terrier Dog for Adoption in Hondo, Texas

Meet Ruger. This handsome little guy is about three years old, weighs approximately 15 pounds, and is ready to leave his difficult past behind.

Ruger was found on the streets of deep South Texas and was so severely matted that he had to be completely shaved down when he arrived. Thankfully, those days are behind him, and now he's looking for a family that will make sure he never has to experience that again.

Ruger lives in a playgroup with several other male dogs and does very well. He can be a bit of a boss, though, so he tends to do best with dogs closer to his own size rather than tiny dogs. He loves people, but he may be a little shy at first until he knows you're a friend. Once he trusts you, his sweet personality shines through.

Because of his coat, Ruger will need regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. In return, you'll have a loyal, adorable companion who's ready to enjoy the good life he has always deserved.
