Meet Huck,
A handsome little guy who weighs about 14 pounds and is around a year old. Like so many dogs from deep South Texas, Huck was found living outside on a property where he clearly wasn't welcome. While we don't know everything he's been through, it's obvious that life hasn't always been kind to him.
Despite his past, Huck doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's a very sweet, gentle soul who is still learning that people can be trusted. One of the cutest things about him is that if you approach him gently, he'll roll right onto his back and let you rub his belly. It's his quiet way of saying he wants to trust—you just have to give him a little time.
Huck would thrive in a calm, patient home with someone who understands that the best relationships are built on kindness and trust. A confident canine companion could also help him continue building his confidence and show him that the world isn't such a scary place.
Huck is currently located just outside of San Antonio, Texas. Be sure to check our transport schedule—we may already have a trip planned near you. If you'd like to learn more about Huck or see additional videos of him interacting with other dogs, just let us know.
Huck is Chagas positive but do not let that deter you. Chagas is completely affordable to treat, and dogs go on to live happy, healthy lives. You can find out more about Chagas disease on our website.
