Meet Bigsby — a tiny gentleman with a big heart (in every sense of the word) who’s ready to settle into his well-earned retirement era. 🐾✨
At around 10–12 years old and just under 10 lbs, this Pomeranian prince is all about the simple joys in life: soft places to nap, gentle scritches, and staying as close to his favorite human as physically possible. Bigsby is the definition of a velcro dog — if you move, he moves. Think of him as your fluffy little shadow, happily trotting along behind you from room to room, just to make sure you don’t get lonely.
He’s incredibly friendly and affectionate, especially with women (his preferred audience), though he’s willing to accept a kind man as a supporting character if needed. His favorite activities include snuggling up beside you, soaking in neck and ear scratches, and simply being near his person. He’s comfortable being picked up and handled, making him an easy companion to care for.
Bigsby is still working on his potty training and will need a home where someone is around frequently to help him stay on schedule. He’s making progress with potty pads, too, and just needs a patient, consistent routine to keep improving.
Now, let’s address the one thing on Bigsby’s “absolutely not” list: cats. In his world, they are sworn adversaries, and he would very much like to keep it that way. He does, however, do well with other dogs and would be happiest in a calm, adult-only home where he can relax and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle.
Bigsby had to be shaved due to severe matting, so he’s currently rocking a bit of a minimalist look — but don’t worry, his signature fluffy Pomeranian coat is expected to grow back in with time and care.
He also has heart disease, which is being well managed with medication (that he happily takes tucked into a pill pocket — no drama here). The good news is that with modern veterinary care, dogs with his condition often live long, comfortable lives and frequently outlive the progression of the disease itself. He’s recently had thorough bloodwork, a full dental, and additional diagnostics, all showing that he’s otherwise a healthy, happy boy.
Bigsby will go home fully set up for success, including his current medications and food to help him transition smoothly into his new life.
At the end of the day, Bigsby isn’t asking for much — just a cozy home, a steady routine, and someone to love him as much as he loves them. If you’ve got a quiet home and a soft spot for a devoted little companion, Bigsby is ready to claim his spot right by your side… permanently. 💛
