Meet Pascal
Pascal is a handsome 2-year-old, 52-pound Pit Bull Terrier with the most interesting eyes--one brown and one blue--and a heart that has come a very long way.

Pascal's early life was heartbreaking. He was rescued after severe neglect, living outdoors on a chain and arriving emaciated with rickets and an old, poorly healed hind-leg fracture. Thanks to his foster family and training, Pascal has learned how to be a dog, understand boundaries, and trust people. Today he is a loving, affectionate guy who enjoys being close to his people and would happily spend his days hanging out by their side.

Pascal is a low-energy dog who enjoys short walks, playing in the yard, chasing a few balls, and plenty of couch time. About a mile is his limit before he gets tired, so he is not looking for a hiking partner. His early malnutrition caused some permanent changes to his legs, but he is not showing signs of pain and does well with daily glucosamine and fish oil supplements.

He is a quick learner and responds well to commands and consistent boundaries. Pascal can be a little pushy and rough when excited, so he would do best with dog-savvy adopters and children over age 8 who understand how to set clear, calm limits. Loud or chaotic environments can initially overwhelm him, so a calmer household and predictable routine would suit him well.

Pascal can live with other dogs, as long as they are calmer dogs of similar size or smaller. He does best with dogs who won't encourage high-energy chaos. He is fed separately in his kennel as he has shown food aggression in past with dogs. Bones also are not shared, high value treats are given to him in his crate.

He currently lives peacefully with a cat and has learned to respect her boundaries. Slow introductions and clear rules would be important with a new cat.

Most of all, Pascal is looking for someone who will appreciate the wonderful dog he has become. He loves his people, enjoys cuddling and gentle play, and would be perfectly happy being someone's devoted shadow.

A home with a yard and a cooler climate would be a bonus. After everything Pascal has been through, he deserves a quiet calm forever home where he can simply relax, feel safe, and be loved.
