Meet Enzo!

Enzo is a young, 32-pound Pit Bull Terrier mix who has come a long way since being found abandoned at a Memphis dog park. When he was rescued, he was severely emaciated--literally a skeleton--and in such poor condition that he required emergency veterinary care. Thankfully, he is now safe, eating on a structured schedule, and steadily gaining strength.

Enzo is a sweet, puppyish boy who loves attention, pets, playtime, and car rides. He does well in his crate, sleeps through the night, and has been calm and cooperative when handled. He walks nicely on a leash, although he is not yet strong enough for long walks. He is also settling nicely into a household routine.

Enzo currently lives with other dogs and has been calm and indifferent during supervised introductions. He is making progress toward more interaction with his canine foster siblings.
Because Enzo experienced severe starvation, he currently has some understandable resource guarding around food and water when other dogs are nearby. He is fed separately in his crate, and this is an area his future family should continue to manage patiently and appropriately. He has already stopped guarding toys, which is an encouraging improvement.

Enzo will bark to alert his people when someone approaches the house, and while he enjoys car rides, he may bark at people who come too close to the vehicle.

He still needs formal testing with cats and children which foster is working on getting done.

With continued patience, structure, and positive training, Enzo can become a wonderful sweet companion .
