Meet Marin! This sweet, goofy girl is a whole lot of love wrapped up in one adorable package! She may be a little unsure when meeting new people and will let you know about it with some barking, but don't worry - a few tasty treats and a little patience go a long way. Once Marin realizes you're a friend, she'll be warming up to you in no time!
Marin is a pretty mellow girl overall, with just the right amount of playful energy. She's happiest when she's near her people and would love to be your little shadow. She absolutely LOVES playing fetch and will happily chase just about any toy you throw her way. Tennis balls don't stand a chance, though - she can destroy those in minutes! Hard plastic balls are a much better match for this enthusiastic fetch champion.
When playtime is over, Marin is all about the love. She has a goofy side that will keep you smiling, especially when she breaks into big stretches and rolls onto her back while making the funniest little noises. And when she's excited to see you, she may greet you with a happy jump or two. She's a work in progress on remembering that all four paws belong on the floor!
Marin is house-trained as long as she gets regular opportunities to go outside. She knows sit, stay, and lay down, and she's continuing to work on her manners. She's also a good girl in her kennel. She may need a little encouragement to go in, but once she's settled, she does very well and is generally quiet unless she hears something happening outside.
A few things to know about Marin's ideal home: She needs slow, thoughtful introductions to new people and other animals. She's selective about her canine friends and has only gotten along with one of the three dogs in her foster home. No small dogs, please, and a home without cats is likely best. If there's another dog in the home, Marin would do best with a calm, submissive pup who is happy to give her space and mostly mind their own business.
Marin also has a strong interest in squirrels, so leash manners are still a work in progress! When she spots one, she'll be ready to take you on an adventure, whether you're prepared or not. A secure leash and someone willing to continue working with her on walks will be important.
The secret to winning Marin's heart? A little patience, some yummy treats, a few rounds of fetch, and lots of love. Once you're in her circle, you'll have a devoted, playful, and downright silly best friend who just wants to be wherever you are.
