Meet Rico

Rico is an eight-year-old with full superhero energy the kind of dog who bounds into a room ready to save the day, whether or not the day needs saving.
He's playful, loyal, and endlessly enthusiastic about whatever his people are doing. He's very smart. Rico picks things up fast and is a genuine pleasure to train commands, routines, house rules, he learns them quickly and wants to get it right.

He's fully potty trained and already knows sit, lay down, stay, shake, and speak on command, and he'd happily learn more for the right person with a pocket full of treats.

What makes Rico special is how deeply he bonds. He's not a background dog. He's a loyal best friend and a true companion, the one who follows you from room to room and greets you like you've been gone a year when you've been gone twenty minutes. And he is a world-class cuddle. He'll happily sleep in bed with you, or stretch out at your feet while you watch a movie.

He is a total family dog. Gentle and patient with small children, tolerant of the chaos that comes with a busy household, and happiest when he's right in the middle of everything.

What Rico needs: Rico is still learning how to be around other dogs and animals. He would do best as the only pet in the home, or with an experienced owner willing to put in the time on socialization and structured introductions. Given how quickly he learns everything else, he has every chance of getting there with the right person.

At eight, Rico is past the puppy chaos and settled into the best version of himself devoted, clever, affectionate, house-trained, and ready for a family to call his own.

We are heartbroken that his owner had to move out of state and could not take him. We are hoping and praying to find a loving home so he can have the stability and receive all the love that he deserves.
