Was it the dreamy eyes that pulled you in? Same! This is Elphie and she has the epitome of soft soulful eyes with a sunshine happy tail to match. Listen to her foster talk about her and you will know- she is true soul dog with that warm, easy presence that makes a house feel like a home.
Go watch Elphie Ever After on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this gentle, golden-hearted girl. https://youtu.be/gMlMIqgdOm8
Elphie is estimated to be around 4 years old, weighs 47 lbs, and appears to be a Pittie Lab mix. As always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess, but her personality? That part is beautifully clear. She’s fostered in a loving home with a whole crew of dogs, from playful little Frenchies to a big, laid-back lab who shares her love for sunbathing and lounging. Elphie fits right into that rhythm with a social, balanced, and happy personality. Her foster can’t say enough about her eyes, the kind that feel full of warmth and understanding, and that always-wagging, joy-filled tail that seems to have a life of its own. She’s affectionate in the most natural way, happy to curl up next to you on the couch or nearby if you are busy.
On leash, Elphie is an absolute dream. She walks right beside you, checks in often, and settles into a steady, easy pace even with someone new on the other end of the leash. She’s not demanding when it comes to exercise either. She’ll happily join you for a walk, but she’s just as content skipping a day in favor of lounging, sunbathing, or supervising the backyard from her favorite spot in the grass.
With other dogs, Elphie shines in the right environment. She lives beautifully with her foster siblings and enjoys a little play followed by long, peaceful breaks. She especially appreciates dogs who are gentle and respectful, the kind who understand that not every moment needs to be full speed ahead. She has done wonderfully even with smaller dogs and shares affection easily in the home. When meeting new dogs, she benefits from slow, thoughtful introductions, and once she settles in, her calm, companion nature really takes over.
She’s also proven to be a lovely little tag-along in real life. She’s stayed over at foster friends’ homes and has been quiet and easy, which opens the door for apartment living as well. A first-floor setup would be ideal, and while she would absolutely enjoy a yard for her sunbathing sessions, she doesn’t require a big, busy lifestyle to be happy.
Elphie is incredibly people-loving and naturally drawn to connection. She recently went to a large adoption event in the city and truly stole the show, making a connection with literally every guest that came through. So introverts be warned- she may insist you make new friends while out and about. Extroverts- this girl will happily work the room with you! She seeks out affection, takes treats gently, and is especially quick to bond with the kind, patient person who meets her warm eyes and lets her settle in at her own pace. She may take a moment to fully relax in a new environment, but once she does, you’ll see just how deeply loving and devoted she is.
Elphie is the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much, just a soft place to land, a gentle routine, and someone to share her days with. In return, she offers that quiet, steady kind of love that feels like home.
If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate, sunshine-loving companion who will happily be your couch buddy, your walking partner, and your loyal little shadow… Elphie is ready and waiting!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
