Meet Mat, a nine-month-old Pit/Cattle Dog mix weighing 33 pounds.

Mat is a gentle, sweet soul who’s been through more than his fair share—but he’s already showing signs of healing, both inside and out. When he first arrived, he was dealing with significant untreated skin issues that left him with open sores. Now, with proper care and treatment, he’s on the road to recovery and starting to feel so much better each day.

Because of his past, Mat can be timid and unsure, especially in new situations. It’s clear he hasn’t always known kindness—but despite everything, he remains incredibly sweet and wants to trust. He just needs someone patient and compassionate who can give him the time, love, and reassurance he deserves.

With a little TLC and a safe, supportive home, Mat has so much potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. Watching him gain confidence and finally relax will be such a rewarding journey for the right person.
