// // Meet Sebastian! Sebastian is a 2.5-year-old, 8 lb. Pekingese/Poodle mix with a tender heart and a story of resilience. This little guy had a very difficult start in life and arrived at the shelter scared, dirty, and severely matted. After getting him groomed, healthy, and up to date on vaccinations, we’ve spent the past month helping him decompress and begin to trust again. Sebastian is making progress, but he’s still early in his journey. For the first month, he wouldn’t allow any human handling. With patience and gentle encouragement, he’s slowly starting to feel safer, but he will need a very special adopter who understands that trust will take time. His ideal home is calm, secure, and filled with patience and love. He must go to an experienced dog owner who is committed to continuing his progress at his pace. A home with at least one friendly, playful dog is essential. Sebastian absolutely lights up around other dogs and relies on them for comfort and confidence. Because of his sensitivity, Sebastian cannot be placed in a home with children. He is doing well with potty pads and is very food-motivated, which will help with continued training. Sebastian may not be the kind of dog who warms up overnight, but for the right person, helping him feel safe and loved will be incredibly rewarding. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure Sebastian's training needs are met. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date.
All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.
