Swiss is a 5-month-old mixed breed puppy weighing about 25 lbs. She is tall and lanky with adorable clompy feet, and we expect she will grow into a medium-sized dog.

Swiss is doing a great job with house training and already seeks out a private spot when she needs to go potty. She is also excellent in her crate, comfortably spending the workday or sleeping through the night, and even choosing to relax there on her own when she wants a break.

Swiss is a sweet, sensitive girl who is looking for a patient family to help her continue building confidence. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly loving and loyal. She is a medium to high energy puppy who enjoys playing and has done very well with confident, playful dogs after proper introductions.

She is still gaining confidence in new situations and can be cautious around unfamiliar people. Swiss is making great progress with her leash skills and does best with positive reinforcement and a supportive handler when she feels unsure. Because she may try to back out of her equipment when frightened, we recommend a harness, martingale collar, and double-clip leash for safety.

Swiss has a special soft spot for children and did very well with the young kids in her previous foster home. She can be more reserved around men, likely because she had very limited exposure to them while growing up in the shelter, but she continues to gain confidence with positive experiences. She briefly met a cat and did well during the introduction.
