Meet Elderberry Berry to his friends!

Berry is a gentle, snuggly soul whos had a rough start and is ready for his happily ever after. After his owner passed away, he ended up at the intake shelter and was so badly matted that he needed a full shave to start over. Understandably, he was scared and still has some separation anxiety, so hes looking for a calm, patient home that will give him the time and love to settle in where someone is around more often than not. But for all hes been through, Berry is so gentle and trusting.

Hes a true companion dog who loves being close. Hes mostly a snuggler and a follower, happy to shadow his person from room to room all day long. Hes also a bit of a talker and will let you know when the mailman is there. Hes a little shy when he first meets new people, so hell need some TLC to let him open up safely at his own pace. Once he trusts you, hes all yours.

Berry came from a home with another dog and cats, and hes friendly with both but likes life on the calm side. He takes a little time to warm up to unfamiliar dogs so slow, low-pressure introductions help him feel safe, but once hes settled in, hes happy to share his space and coexist peacefully. Hed do best with another calm, low-key companion who matches his mellow energy, or as your one and only.
