Every once in a while, a puppy comes along who makes you stop and think, WOW, this is going to be one magnificent dog someday. That's Tanjiro!
Of course, he's already pretty magnificent, even with his baby squishiness, oversized paws, and those adorable little eyebrows. But every now and then, we catch a glimpse of the handsome grown-up boy he's going to become, and we just melt.
Tanjiro is just under three months old and comes to us from a rescue in Texas, where he and his sister Nezuko were raised after being found outdoors with their mama when they were only days old. Thankfully, this little family landed in wonderful hands, and Tanjiro has had the opportunity to grow up feeling safe, loved, and ready to take on the world.
Tanjiro has one of those personalities that makes you wonder how a puppy so young can already be so COOL. He's confident without being pushy, energetic without being hyper, and playful without being a total maniac. He's just a happy, social, easygoing little guy who seems to take everything in stride.
One of our favorite things about Tanjiro is how much he loves hanging out with the big kids in playgroup! Despite his young age, he's already comfortable romping around with larger dogs, making friends, and joining in the fun. Watching this little guy confidently navigate the world of grown-up dogs is an absolute delight.
And he's smart, too! Tanjiro arrived having never walked on a leash, but within just a couple of days, he had practically figured the whole thing out. Not bad for a baby!
Of course, he's still very much a puppy, which means plenty of cuddles, silly antics, and that irresistible baby-dog charm. He'll need all the usual puppy guidance as he grows, but he's already off to such a wonderful start.
Tanjiro is the whole package: handsome, happy, social, affectionate, and just the right amount of goofy. We absolutely adore this little guy, and we think whoever gets to watch him grow up is going to be very lucky indeed!
Tanjiro's adoption fee is $450. This animal is neutered, and is up to date on core vaccines appropriate for his age.
He will need a rabies vaccine at 4 months of age and a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age at the adopter's own vet.
Since he is a puppy, any adopter should anticipate needing to work on housebreaking and other training using positive reinforcement training only.
