Condor - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Condor ACCT-A-261827 is a 3-year-old male who came in as a stray on 9/21. Finder noted that he is "skinny with fleas." Condor is a friendly boy who seems a little more independent at first, but will still come over readily for pets! Condor loves toys but will drop them for more affection & attention as well! Unfortunately, Condor was very skinny with muscle wasting, and a large amount of diarrhea was found in his kennel. He was noted to be cachetic, and due to these concerns, he is looking for a rescue to take him in for more extensive care. Could you give caring Condor a place to land?

MEDICAL:



On 9/16, a large volume of diarrhea was found in Condor's kennel. He was BAR (bright, alert and responsive), and noted to be cachectic.



Per his intake exam on 9/15, Condor is neutered, with an empty scrotum & tattoo found. His ears were dry, with live fleas and flea dirt & thinning fur down back. He was also found to have tartar along his gum line and he is very skinny with muscle wasting. He was BAR (bright, alert and responsive), and friendly!



BEHAVIORAL:



Per staff on 9/16:

"Kennel Presentation: Laying on his bed when I approached. Came to the front with soft eyes, ears back, low tail wags, loose body.

Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out. Walked pulling mildly on leash, hackles raised, ears back, tail low.

Sociability: Sniffed around in the yard, would come over when called with a low wagging tail, wide soft eyes, ears back, head lowered. With handling low tail, ears back, head lower. Moved away when I stopped. After a few minutes attempted handling again, low tail wags, leaning into me, ears back, looser body.

Play: Would chase the toys, pick them up and run around shaking them with low tail wags, ears back, loose body. Dropped them when I walked over to him.

Dog Interaction: n/a

Return to Kennel: Walked back pulling mildly stopping to sniff. Stopped at his kennel and needed leash pressure to hop in. Once in kennel leash was removed by hand."



Playgroup notes 9/16:

"steer test 3/5 with water and 0/5 with can.

Hackles raised, ears to the side and mid tail at gate greetings. Appropriate greetings in the yard. Drooling and attempted to hump. Steered off by staff"
