DESCRIPTION

If you're in the market for a short, stout, spectacularly floofy gentleman with ears that deserve their own fan club and a personality even bigger than his silhouette, allow us to introduce you to Bruno! This sweet senior grandpa is proof that the best things in life come in small, squishy packages.

Bruno recently found himself looking for a new home after his beloved owner passed away. He's been lucky enough to have family members care for him throughout different chapters of his life, and now he's ready to settle into a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and an appropriate number of compliments about how precious he is. And boy, does this guy love attention!

Bruno is happiest lounging at your feet or snuggling right up in your lap. Age has done absolutely nothing to diminish his desire to be babied, and honestly? We respect that! His first owner used to carry him around, and Bruno would be more than happy to remind you that he is, in fact, a lap dog. And he has lived a long enough life to have earned his opinions! Bruno is also currently living with another dog in his foster home and has successfully done well with other dogs in the past.

Otherwise Bruno is still working on his wellness goals and this handsome grandpa is currently on a weight-loss journey to help him feel more comfortable, take some pressure off his joints, and get cleared for his upcoming neuter and dental surgeries. So he's looking for an activity and accountability partner who can encourage healthy habits while remembering that a distinguished guy like himself will occasionally require a couch break. Think gentle walks, a sensible routine, and lots of praise. Bruno is ready to get those steps in, provided someone has informed him where the snacks are too!

Like many seniors, Bruno has a few ongoing medical needs. He takes medication for a chronic cough, which is suspected to be related to a collapsed trachea, and it seems to be helping quite a bit. He'll need an adopter who can partner with a full-service veterinarian to continue managing his current care, and keep him feeling his best as he continues to age like the fine gentleman he is.

What Bruno needs most is a loving, committed home that understands the beauty of adopting a senior dog. He may come with a little extra fluff, a few extra vet appointments, and a strong preference for being treated like the baby he is, but in return, you'll get a devoted little companion who just wants to be near his people.

So, if you have room in your heart (and preferably your lap) for a stout little sweetheart a big personality, and a lifetime of love still to give, Bruno is ready to be your grandpa goals!

------------------------------------

This dog is considered a mixed breed because it's not accurate to identify breed mix by sight alone, so for most dogs, their mix is only a guess. We get to know each dog as an individual and strive to make matches based on personality, not on breed label.

This dog is currently located in a PAWS foster home. In order to meet with any dogs in foster care, you will need to have a fully processed and approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please complete the adoption application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
