Meet Willie!

Willie is currently living at the shelter and is eligible for BFAR’s Foster to Adopt program.

Willie is a male Shepherd mix born on March 16, 2026. He is sweet, silly, snuggly, and playful. When comfortable, he trots around and prances when he is ready to play.

PERSONALITY: Willie can be cautious with new people and prefers to approach at his own pace. Once comfortable, he is affectionate, curious, and loves being near his people.

FAVORITE THINGS: Cuddles, treats, soft toys, and playing with familiar dogs. He also rides well in the car and usually curls up and goes to sleep.

OTHER DOGS: Willie enjoys familiar dogs and gains confidence from them. A calm, social dog could be helpful, but he may also do well as the only dog. He sometimes barks at unfamiliar dogs when unsure.

CHILDREN: Willie would do best with calm, respectful children ages 10 and older who will give him space and allow him to build trust at his own pace.

CATS: Unknown.

TRAINING: Willie is potty trained and crate trained. He is learning sit, down, and leash skills. New people, dogs, and fast-moving activity can make him uncertain, so he needs continued positive exposure and confidence building.

BEST FIT: Willie needs a patient family that will give him time to settle and continue his training. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and goofy personality shines.

All of our dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and on preventatives.
