My foster writes:
Meet Gerry! This sweet boy has had a rough go of it, but you'd never know it from his loving personality. After being abandoned following an eviction, Gerry is ready for the forever home he deserves and all he really wants is to be loved for life.
Gerry is an awesome walker, an expert cuddler, and a certified lazy bones. He loves rolling onto his back, lounging on the couch, and being close to his people. He's friendly and playful with strangers and has a gentle, easygoing personality. He loves fluffy and tug toys.
Gerry is the kind of dog who just wants to be your best friend. He's settling in more every day, and I suspect he may even be a little younger than we think!
If you're looking for a loving bestie for life, Gerry is the one.
Meet Gerry!
Gerry came to ACC as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but we do know this gentle guy is looking for someone who will give him the time and patience he needs to feel safe. Gerry has medical needs that staff will discuss with you when you meet him. He can be a little unsure when meeting new people and places, but he has shown that he is willing to take treats and slowly warm up. With a calm environment and a caring family, this sweet boy is ready to start his next chapter.
My Ideal Home
Gerry would thrive in a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that confidence is built one small step at a time. A predictable routine, positive reinforcement training, and enrichment activities like food puzzles and long lasting chews will help him feel comfortable while he continues to learn about the world around him.
Good with Other Pets?
Because Gerry arrived as a stray, his history with other animals is unknown. He has been able to meet other dogs at the shelter, but he may benefit from slow, thoughtful introductions to help him feel comfortable with canine friends.
Good with Kids?
Due to Gerry's fearful nature and need for gentle interactions, an adult only home is recommended at this time. He would do best with adopters who will respect his boundaries and allow him to approach new experiences at his own pace.
Things to Know
Gerry is a shy pup who may need a little extra time to come out of his shell, but every brave step he takes is worth celebrating. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys tasty treats, and is learning that new people can bring good things. If you're looking for a quiet companion to share peaceful days and gentle moments with, Gerry may just be the missing piece to your puzzle.
