Sage - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in New York, New York

My foster writes: My name is Sage. I'm a sweet and occasionally energetic, lovely little girl. I know my name and will come when called out. I also know "no" and its many variations, though the only time I am told no is when when nails accidentally stick to the couch when I am trying to secure a close spot next to my person. It's not my fault and as soon as I'm reminded, I become very soft and gentle. I am curious about my surroundings and my foster tells the shelter I am a very quick adaptor. I'm good with the other foster cat in my home and I've been slowly introduced to a large dog and have shown no signs of aggression. If you go slow, I will warm up to you extremely quickly. I love all kinds of pets-head scratches, soft strokes, nose kisses, and I will even let you pick me up without any protest.
There's a good chance I might think I'm part dog, as my tail wags constantly, and I chirp softly to let you know I would like some attention please (though I'm not pushy, if you need your space to get some work done, I'll understand, and keep my distance waiting patiently for some love). I occasionalllllllyyyyyy snore in my sleep but I'm told it's veryyyy quietly. And I LOVE the chicken squeeze tubes that my foster gives me.
THE PROS:
-gentle
-easy going
-quiet except for purrs and soft chirps
-knows my name, will come when called and understands gentle "nos"
-once I'm comfortable (which doesn't take long) I will love the hell out of you
-good with strangers, cats, and dog curious and no signs of dog reactivity
-playful but not destructive
-stunning green eyes, a beautiful and soft coat, and an overall really beautiful girl (so I'm told)
-extremely well behaved and looking to love you for you
-my foster is really going to miss me, she says I'm the best girl
THE CONS:
I shed a little, but will let you brush me softly to help mitigate. And honestly what's a home without the occasional tuft of fur to remind you someone is there who loves you.

Sage was lying in her litter box, alert with ears forward and average eyes, and gave a little hiss when first approached, but this then converted into some gentle meowing, and she sniffed treats. She then allowed petting on her head, cheek, and along her back while remaining calm. She sniffed Squeeze Up and then began eating it. She allowed more petting while eating the Squeeze Up and remained calm and sweet.

Sage interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
