IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ABIDE BY THIS STATE REGULATION, DO NOT APPLY. WE ARE NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU ABOUT IT LATER.
The adoption fee includes the appointment at one of the clinics we use in the state of Delaware. (Options are Wilmington, Newark, Dover, or Georgetown.) The foster-to-adopt family will contact Grass Roots Rescue when he is about 5 months old to schedule this appointment.
Keeping the appointment that is assigned by the clinic is a condition of adoption. Foster-to-adopters must live within 1 hour of DE and be willing to travel here for the pending appointment.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Housebroken: Not yet but she tries
Crate Trained: Yes
Good in the Car: Yes but she's active. She does lay down after awhile.
Good on a Leash: Not yet. She thinks it's some strange contraption preventing her from exploring.
Energy Level: High, Puppy High!
Need a Fenced-in Yard: No
Dog Friendly: Yes
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? Not necessary but she's been with her sisters and our 4 dogs and will learn from other dogs.
Cat Friendly: Yes but she wants to pounce on them since they're the same size. Cats must be dog friendly and not care.
Kid Friendly: No kids here but with the proper introductions and if kids are trained well, they should be fine.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? I'd say it's open to the parents. I wouldn't put a newborn with a puppy in the same pen or kennel lol. But with them being kept away from young kids (under 5), they should be okay. Puppies have sharp nails and they like to jump.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Heron is a sweet girl! She's active, loves food and is treat motivated! She loves belly rubs! She will stop everything for the belly rubs! When taken out every few hours, she does her business outside. She's had some accidents in the kennel like over night or if we're gone too long. She was great in our shower with bath time. She wants to cuddle but also explore what's around her. She hasn't learned to play with toys yet. She does have a squeaky toy in her kennel now. She will need guidance and training like any puppy. Time and patience is necessary. We're still learning about this cutie.
