Surf is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves treats, toys, and spending time with his people. He already knows "sit," "paw," and "down," and is eager to show off his skills for a tasty reward. He usually takes treats gently, though he can get a little sharky when he's extra excited.
This handsome guy loves attention and enjoys pets all over. Surf is very tolerant of handling and allows full-body touch, including having his paws, ears, and tail handled.
When Surf gets excited, he doesn't always realize his size and may barrel into handlers or jump up to say hello. He has an enthusiastic personality and would benefit from continued work on his manners.
Surf would do best with an older, laid-back dog who is comfortable coexisting and doesn't mind giving him his space. If you're looking for a loving, toy-loving companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Surf may be the perfect match.
Surf is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please come to the shelter during our operating hours or email AnimalServices@bcohio.gov.
WE HAVE MORE PETS IN THE SHELTER THAT ARE NOT ON PETFINDER.

Breed listings: Please note that Animal Friends recognizes current research showing that the large majority of breed guesses on shelter dogs are inaccurate and that only a small percentage of an animals genetics make up their physical appearance. People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as Mixed Breeds unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in. We feel that the best matches are made based on a dogs individual personality and recommend families come meet our animals in person. Please reach out with any questions!
