Gunner is a super cute and lovable dog with lots of energy and so much love to give. He is great around strangers and happily seeks out attention and affection from everyone he meets.
He previously lived as an indoor dog but absolutely loves being outside, especially in a fenced-in backyard where he can run and explore. Gunner has been around children ranging from newborn to 18 years old and did wonderful with them. He has also been around other dogs and did amazing.
Gunner is currently working on house training and could benefit from continued crate training and structure in his new home. While meeting him, he seemed a little anxious at first but allowed everyone to pet and handle him without issue. He did not show much interest in toys or treats, preferring attention and companionship instead.
An ideal home for Gunner would be with someone who has plenty of time to spend with him and can provide an active lifestyle to match his energetic personality.
Gunner is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please come to the shelter during our operating hours or email AnimalServices@bcohio.gov.
WE HAVE MORE PETS IN THE SHELTER THAT ARE NOT ON PETFINDER.

Breed listings: Please note that Animal Friends recognizes current research showing that the large majority of breed guesses on shelter dogs are inaccurate and that only a small percentage of an animals genetics make up their physical appearance. People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as Mixed Breeds unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in. We feel that the best matches are made based on a dogs individual personality and recommend families come meet our animals in person. Please reach out with any questions!
