Nyla is a happy, affectionate girl who loves spending time with people. She was easy to leash and eager to get out and explore, though she does pull on leash and could benefit from some continued leash training.
Once out, Nyla was thrilled to be with her handlers and spent much of her time seeking attention, happily jumping up to say hello and asking for affection. She enjoys being around people and has a friendly, social personality that shines through.
Nyla knows the "sit" command and enjoys treats, taking them gently from your hand. While she was offered toys, she didn't seem quite sure what to do with them, suggesting she may need some help learning how to play and engage with different types of enrichment.
She was very comfortable with handling and allowed full-body touch, enjoying the attention and pets she received. Nyla's sweet nature and desire to be close to her people make her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, people-oriented dog.
Nyla is an owner surrender due to housing issues and came in her with brother Maverick.
Nyla is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please come to the shelter during our operating hours or email AnimalServices@bcohio.gov.

Breed listings: Please note that Animal Friends recognizes current research showing that the large majority of breed guesses on shelter dogs are inaccurate and that only a small percentage of an animals genetics make up their physical appearance. People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as Mixed Breeds unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in. We feel that the best matches are made based on a dogs individual personality and recommend families come meet our animals in person. Please reach out with any questions!
