Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption in Fairfax, Virginia

LYLA

Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Fairfax, Virginia
May 24th
female, small, adult

DESCRIPTION

Meet Lyla, a sweet and social 3-year-old, 23-pound pup with a heart full of love and a tail ready to wag for new friends! This black, tan, and white beauty believes everyone she meets is a potential best friend and happily welcomes all the attention she can get!
Lyla is a smart girl, too—she already knows "sit" and "paw," and she’s always happy to show off her good manners, especially if treats are involved!
Lyla was friendly and calm when meeting another dog in the shelter. She politely greeted them with sniffs and then happily went about her business, showing she may enjoy a canine companion who matches her easygoing style! As always, a meet-and-greet with resident dogs is recommended.
With her affectionate personality, friendly nature, and adorable mix of charm and manners, Lyla is ready to bring joy, companionship, and lots of tail wags to her future home!

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!

Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
