Before you meet the "D" man we want you to know- THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston.
Meet Duncan, our little Westie mix boy!
Duncan's story starts the way no puppy's should: wandering on his own, tiny paws padding through a world far too big for him. But if you met him today, you'd never guess he had a rough beginning. This boy greets life like every day is a celebration.
At about 13 pounds now and expected to grow into a 22-25lb compact companion, Duncan is the perfect size for laps, adventures, and everything in between. He's around 4 months old, full of curiosity, and discovering that humans are actually pretty wonderful.
A Personality That Shines
Duncan doesn't just walk toward you he wiggles his whole way over, belly low, tail swishing like he's trying to sweep the floor with happiness. Sit down for even a second and hell be right there, nudging closer, hoping you'll notice how soft and thick his fur is and how much he wants to belong.
He's a puppy who:
Loves toys with his whole heart
Plays beautifully with other dogs
Shares food and toys without a fuss
Runs fullspeed ahead when he hears the word treat
Is doing great with outdoor potty habits thanks to yard access
He's gentle, affectionate, and always ready to make a new friend human or canine.
Learning, Growing, Thriving
Despite everything he's been through, Duncan approaches the world with trust and optimism. He's learning quickly, soaking up affection, and figuring out that people can be safe, warm, and kind. Give him a moment on your lap and he'll melt into you with a deep, relieved sigh that says he finally feels at home.
What He's Hoping For
Duncan isn't looking for anything fancy. He just wants:
A family who laughs at his silly puppy antics
A cozy spot to nap after playtime
A yard or regular outdoor time to keep practicing his potty skills
People who will love him for the rest of his life
He's ready to give his whole heart to someone he just needs someone willing to receive it.
If you're looking for a joyful, loyal, endlessly loving little companion, Duncan is waiting to meet you. He's already decided that people are worth believing in. Now he's hoping someone will believe in him too.

Duncan gets a new home details:
He will be neutered soon, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
