Zara - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Dubuque, Iowa

Meet Zara—now accepting applications for a personal belly-rub provider!

At 6 years old and 69 pounds, Zara is a lovely lady looking for a quiet home, plenty of attention, and someone who understands that belly rubs aren’t just a greeting—they’re a favorite pastime.

Her former family says Zara is very good with children and comfortable meeting strangers. A peaceful household with or without kids could suit her well, especially if her people have plenty of time for pets and togetherness.

Zara would like to be your only dog, and her experience with cats is unknown. According to her former family, she is house-trained and was crate-trained, although she hasn’t used a crate in several years. She also eats a special food to help manage her allergies, which her new family will need to continue.

If your idea of quality time involves a relaxed evening and a dog soaking up your affection, Zara would love to meet you. Bring your best belly-rubbing hand!

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
