Kona (MR26-123) - Miniature Poodle and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Peyton, Colorado

Kona is a 2-year-old Poodle mix full of personality, weighing around 17 lbs. He is incredibly smart, loves food, and enjoys exploring his foster family's neighborhood on leash walks. He also loves racing around, playing with his toys, and has even encouraged one of his foster sisters to play for the first time!

Kona prefers to do things at his own pace and can take some time to build trust with new people. Once you're part of his circle, his affectionate side really starts to shine. He enjoys morning cuddles with his foster family and loves a good belly rub!

One of Kona's biggest hurdles right now is becoming more comfortable with being picked up and handled, which will be important for future grooming and veterinary appointments. He will need a patient, experienced adopter willing to continue working with him and building trust at his pace.

Kona requires another dog in his adoptive home to help show him the ropes and continue teaching him about the sweet life. Because he has been doing so well walking on leash, he does not require a fenced-in yard. However, his adopter will need to be comfortable patiently putting on his harness and other walking gear and allowing Kona to move at his own pace during this process. Kona also requires an adult-only home to help provide him with a predictable environment as he settles into his new routine.
