** If you are interested in adopting Penny please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Penny is an absolutely adorable 11 year old, 14 pound Poodle/Norfolk Terrier mix (best guess!) whose world was turned upside down when her beloved owner passed away. After spending her life in a home, this sweet little lady suddenly found herself in a crowded shelter in Houston, trying to make sense of a life she never expected.
As if losing her person wasn't heartbreaking enough, Penny arrived at the shelter with another dog from the home. While her companion was adopted, Penny was left behind. Thankfully, her story doesn't end there. She's now on her way to Colorado, where she'll have the chance to find the loving family she deserves for her golden years.
Despite everything she's been through, Penny remains a gentle, sweet-natured little girl. We can only imagine how confusing these recent changes have been for her, and we're looking forward to helping her settle into a foster home where she can feel safe and loved again.
Because Penny lived in a home, we are hopeful that she may be house-trained, but we won't be able to confirm that until she arrives in Colorado and spends some time with one of our foster families. As with any rescue dog, we encourage adopters to be patient and understanding as she adjusts to a new environment.
Penny is looking for a soft place to land, a warm lap to curl up in, and someone who will cherish her for the wonderful little dog she is. Senior dogs have a special way of loving with their whole hearts, and Penny is ready to share hers with the lucky family who gives her a second chance.
Penny is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year.
Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
