** If you are interested in adopting Deb please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Deb is a sweet little lady Chihuahua mix who is 8 years old and 9 lbs.
Deb was relinquished to a shelter in New Mexico along with 8 other Chihuahuas when their owner passed away. Given the conditions of the dogs relinquished (all un-fixed, 1 pregnant, 4 young puppies) we aren't sure how loving or caring her previous home was, or if it was more of an unregulated breeding situation... so we are just happy that Deb could get a fresh start!
Deb does wonderfully with other dogs and seems to take comfort and confidence from their presence. Because of this, we are requiring she go to a home with another small, friendly dog.
From Deb's foster:
"Deb warmed up so fast and IS THE CUTEST THING EVER!!
I think she's the best dog I've ever met! She is SO silly and sweet.
She gets excited to go on walks and dances when it's walk time. She is so full of personality! She also loves to play with toys, it's adorable.
No accidents since the first few days (when she was still warming up) but now that she's totally settled (which only took a few days!) I would say she is potty trained and every time we got out, she potties the second we get outside! She does her business immediately and then run back to the door.
She sleeps all night quietly in the crate in my room (though she would LOVE to cuddle in bed with her person).
Deb spends 99% of the day on the couch and loves to burrow under blankets and cuddle up as close to you as possible. She is a total love bug!!!
She also loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with another dog! Her and my other foster dog (another small chihuahua) are best buddies!"
Deb is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed (no more puppies for this girl!).
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
