Mastiff Dogs Available for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Coco is a beautiful 6-year old female Mastiff mix who was surrendered by her owner on May 4, 2026 for a very sad reason. Coco had been a PTSD/therapy dog for her mistress and was very much loved by her owner. Unfortunately, her mistress has experienced health issues recently and can no longer physically take care of her beloved Coco.

Coco has a tan short smooth coat with cream-colored highlights on her chest, a short docked tail, and an adorable Mastiff face with dark brown eyes, tan eyebrows, dark brown/black shading on her muzzle, and short floppy ears.

This sweet girl has an affectionate, easygoing personality. Coco has no known health issues, and she gets along well with cats and children.

We had taken preliminary photos of Coco in her large floor crate, and she didn't seem to have any reaction to dogs who were barking in close proximity to her.

These photos of Coco were taken on May 8, 2026 when HSOV Executive Director Amy Rogers accompanied her for outdoor glamour photos. Coco was the perfect lady and stayed close to Amy. It was touching to see Coco 'perk up' when she saw a car being driven into our parking area, and she seemed mesmerized while she watched the individuals getting out of their car and walking into the shelter. Many dogs have this reaction while we have them in the photo area, and it makes us sad to wonder if they think their owner might be coming to take them home.

Coco is a full-figured girl who weighs 75 lbs, and she can be fairly energetic on a leash.

Coco will be spayed before being adopted by her new family. Naturally we'd love to see her back in a nice home again instead of being in a shelter environment 24/7.

Coco is available as a temporary foster or as a foster-to-adopt while she waits her spay procedure. Please complete/submit an HSOV foster/adoption application for approval if you would like to offer Coco either a temporary or a forever home.
