Birgit came to Saving Grace in rough shape, but with a little TLC in one of our wonderful foster homes, this sweet girl has blossomed into the precious cuddlebug she was meant to be. Her favorite place is right beside her people, and her goal in life is to be your tiny shadow!

Birgit gets along well with other small dogs and loves snuggling with both adults and children. Because she is such a little lady, older or respectful children would be the best fit for her. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate and is perfectly happy to curl up in a cozy dog bed or under a soft blanket. With a consistent schedule, she has excellent house manners, too.

Birgit isn't particularly interested in toys or chews, but she will never turn down a soft treat-and she already knows how to sit! She's unsure about her leash experience, but she does wonderfully in a fenced yard. In fact, she's an all-around dream dog, with her calm, pleasant nature making her a joy both at home and in the car.

Birgit does have some ongoing skin and allergy needs and seems to do best while on a poultry-free diet, so potential adopters should be prepared to work with their veterinarian to manage how to keep this little girl looking and feeling her best. But in return, she offers a whole lot of sweetness, companionship, and cuddles. This sweet girl would love nothing more than a home where she can stay close to her people, soak up plenty of love, and spend her days curled up in a cozy bed-or, even better, on your lap.
