This includes our standard adoption fee of $395 plus an additional required $300 tax-deductible donation. Why the additional donation? Dogs with highly desirable traits-such as low-shedding coats and popular breeds-help us fund lifesaving care for dogs who need it most, including nursing moms, imaging and surgeries for dogs with traumatic injuries, and medications for those requiring lifesaving heartworm treatments. Your generosity makes this possible!

Meet Kit, a bold and playful little terrier mix with a big personality and a growing sense of confidence! This curious little girl wants to investigate absolutely everything, and she is happiest when she's outside exploring. She loves zooming around the backyard, checking out the garden and flower beds, chasing the lawn sprinkler, and playing with plushy toys and balls. She is the kind of girl who comes inside from an afternoon of adventures wet, covered in leaves, and absolutely delighted with herself.

Kit loves her people, too. She follows her foster everywhere, loves to be held and cuddled, and has the makings of a perfect little "purse dog" who would happily tag along wherever you go. She's curious about everything she encounters and is becoming more confident as she discovers the world. Every now and then she'll even bark at a passing butterfly or turtle-which, honestly, is pretty adorable.

When adventure time is over, Kit is happy to settle down. She is quiet in her crate and has had no accidents in her crate or in the house when kept on a schedule.

Kit is still figuring out this whole leash-and-walking business. She was perfectly happy to be outside exploring, but she didn't quite understand why her foster wanted her to go in a particular direction! A harness may help her feel more comfortable as she learns. For now, she's much more interested in following her curiosity than following a sidewalk-but with her confidence growing, she'll be ready to take on more adventures in no time.
