Rita - Maltese and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Durango, Colorado

Meet Rita—four months old and impossibly adorable!

Rita is a four-month-old female who appears to be a Maltese/terrier mix, possibly with a little Schnauzer-type ancestry. Because she was rescued from the streets of Tijuana, her breed is our best estimate based on her appearance.

With her tiny frame, snowy white coat, wispy facial furnishings, button nose, and sweet little folded ears, Rita looks like a miniature stuffed animal. She may be small, but those bright eyes suggest a curious young puppy ready to discover an entirely new world.

Rita is friendly with people and social with other dogs. Since she is still a baby, she will need a family prepared for normal puppy training, patience, playtime, and plenty of affection.

Rita needs a foster or adoptive home! Fostering will give her a safe place to grow and adjust while she waits for her forever match.

The Maltese is a small toy breed known for its glamorous white coat, which is long, silky, and virtually hypoallergenic. They are gentle, affectionate companion dogs that thrive on human companionship and make wonderful family pets.
