Meet Derek!

Sweet Derek is an approximately 1-year-old boy who is ready for a fresh start and a family of his own. He'll be arriving at our rescue on September 5th from our wonderful rescue partners!

Derek was abandoned, but despite everything he's been through, he has remained a friendly, gentle soul. He can be a little shy at times, especially when he's unsure of his surroundings, so hell do best in a calm and patient home where he can build confidence at his own pace.

He has been tested with dogs, cats, and children and has done well with all of them!

Derek has a medium energy level and is especially friendly with other dogs. Because he doesn't always defend himself, he'll need a peaceful environment and respectful canine companions who wont overwhelm him.

His house and crate training are currently unknown, so his adopter should be prepared to help him learn as he settles into his new home.

Derek may need a little encouragement in the beginning, but underneath that shy exterior is a sweet boy who just wants to feel safe. Once he knows he can trust you, we think hell have so much love to give.
