Hi friends! I am TOFFEE and here is some info about me.
PHYSICAL INFO:
Breed: Lab Staffordshire mix
Age: approx.7 years
Gender: Male
Weight: 40 lbs (18 kg)
Current Location: Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico
RESCUE STORY - I was rescued from a shelter where more than 200 dogs were living in poor conditions and severe overcrowding. At first, I was over looked and almost forgotten! That's becasue I was hiding in a wood kennel off to the side where nobody could bother me. Luckily, my rescuer saw me and wanted to get me outa there! Once I was brought to safety, I immediately let my beautiful personality shine. I am told that I'm a wonderful dog who is incredibly loving and grateful. I am sooo happy to finally be out of that unsafe environment, and I hope I can now find the loving furever home I deserve.
TEMPERAMENT - I am a chill boy who likes to rest, play, rest- in that order! I'm also pretty quiet, not a lot of barking from me. I haven't shown any resource guarding or any kinds of reactivity either. My favourite things ever are treats and toys! I have never had a home all to myself, but my rescuer believes I would adapt quickly. I already knows some basic commands (see here in Spanish!) and am eager to learn.
ENERGY LEVEL - Medium-Low. I am just an affectionate, sweet boy. My rescuer says I am a GENTLE-man! But I sure love to run and play outside! see me here
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids – Unknown.
Dogs – Yup! I live with lots of other dogs at the shelter, and we get along great. I'm a pretty social doggo who likes the presence of other dogs. See me here at the shelter.
Cats – Unknown
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Leash skills – Work in progress.
House trained – Work in progress! Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)
HEALTH NOTES:
I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
NOTE: I had one retained testicle, but had it removed when I was neutered.
I receive a monthly pill to prevent heartworm.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD ($650 + 7% PST and 5% GST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
