BRILLO - Golden Retriever and Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Langley Township, British Columbia

Hola! My name is BRILLO and here is some information about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

Breed: Golden Shepherd Mix

Age: Approx 1 year 8 months

Gender: Female

Weight: 39lbs (18kg)

Current Location: GUADALAJARA

RESCUE STORY - I was named after my mother, Luna. Together, our names mean “moonlight.” Me and my mother were found in a small town in Michoacán, Mexico, called Paracho. My mother had been beaten by a man, leaving her with irreversible injuries. Despite everything she had been through, she was an incredible mother and cared for me as a baby with everything she had. I was lucky for her care and to have been a healthy puppy! We are so grateful to have been found and eventually my mother had the opportunity to travel to the United States for adoption. I'm still waiting for my forever family and I can't wait to meet them!

TEMPERAMENT - I am a young, active, and playful dog. However, I can be very shy and timid around people at first! As a puppy, I lived in a foster home with my rescuer. Later, I moved to a boarding facility so I could have more space, opportunities for play, and socialization with other dogs. I don't really bark often. I may bark when I'm playing with dog friends but generally not a vocal pup! I love all types of toys and treats help motivate me!

MY IDEAL HOME/ADOPTER WOULD BE:

A patient and understanding person or family who will give me time to feel comfortable and build trust.

Someone who understands that I can be shy and timid with new people and will let me approach at my own pace.

A home where I will receive plenty of love, attention, playtime, and positive reinforcement.

An active family or individual who can provide regular exercise, walks, play, and mental stimulation.

Someone who enjoys having a playful dog and will keep me busy with toys, treats, and enrichment.

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High

GETS ALONG WITH:

Dogs – Yes! I get along with dogs of all sizes and enjoy their company. (Pending Video)

Cats – Unknown. When I was a puppy I had contact with a cat and I would bark and chase it.

Children – Unknown.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I'm not too sure how I'll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

Leash skills – Yes, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here is a video of me walking on leash!

House trained – Work in progress. I use garden but frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

I am spayed and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada.

NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
