Jill - Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Gwinn, Michigan

Picture this: you come home after a long day, and there's Jill, tail wagging in every direction, ready to greet you like you're the best part of her whole world. This chunky, goofy chocolate Lab girl is about 3 years old and has so much love to give.

Jill loves her snackies and her toys, gets the tippy-taps going for anything new to sniff, and loves settling in with a good chew. She's a bit of a sensitive soul who takes gentle handling and patience to feel truly comfortable — she'll do best with someone who enjoys building trust with her one wag at a time, and who will let her set the pace as she grows more confident. So far she's shown good manners around kids and other dogs, though as with any dog, we always recommend proper introductions and supervision to make sure everyone gets off on the right paw. Cats are still a question mark for this girl.

Jill recently came through a rough experience that wasn't her fault, and she's healing up well — a reminder that this girl has resilience to match her goofiness. She's ready to leave that chapter behind and start writing a new one, curled up on the couch with a family who adores her.

Could Jill be the wiggly, chunky-loaf addition your home has been missing?

The Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile dog breed known for its friendly demeanor and high intelligence. These dogs are often used as guide dogs for the visually impaired, search and rescue dogs, and excellent family pets. Labradors are known for their great sense of smell, strong build, and love of water, making them exceptional hunters and swimmers. With their loyal and loving nature, Labradors have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the most beloved dog breeds in the world.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
