DESCRIPTION
Meet Maple, a 9-year-old neutered male mixed-breed dog who was returned to UPAWS through no fault of his own when his owner had to move to a home where pets weren’t allowed. Now Maple finds himself looking for a comfortable retirement home where he can enjoy the love and companionship he deserves.
Once a spirited sled dog, Maple spent his younger years racing through the snow as part of a team. Although his working days are behind him, this happy senior still has a spring in his step and enjoys getting out for a nice walk.
Maple knows exactly what he wants his retirement to look like: wake up, enjoy a good breakfast, head out for a walk, and then settle onto the couch for a cozy day with his favorite person. Maple is not an outdoor dog—he wants to live inside as a beloved member of the family, surrounded by comfort, warmth, and companionship.
He is a joyful, loving gentleman who walks nicely on a leash and has a wonderfully sweet and patient nature. His fur may look a little ruff around the edges, but beneath it is a true gem with a huge heart and so much love left to give. He has lived with other dogs and understands the value of companionship and teamwork.
Maple would thrive with a family that appreciates senior dogs and is ready to give this very nice old guy a soft place to land. Potential adopters should bring everyone in the household—including any resident dogs—to meet him.
With his happy smile, wagging tail, and loving spirit, Maple is ready to begin his next chapter. Could your couch be the cozy retirement spot he has been waiting for?
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
