Max - Labrador Retriever Dog for Adoption in Foley, Alabama

Hi, Im Max — an 8-month-old sweetheart weighing about 40 pounds, and if Im being honest, all I really want is someone to love me forever. I can be a little shy when meeting new people at first, and I might tuck my tail while I figure out if Im safe. But give me about a minute and youll see the real me come out — a happy, affectionate boy who just wants attention, pets, and a buddy to go on walks with. I was rescued from a high kill shelter down South.

Once I warm up, Im all heart. I absolutely love people and do great with other dogs, too. I also spent time with an 8-year-old child and did very well! I do have some playful puppy energy, so when I get excited I sometimes bounce around and jump while playing. Because of that, Id probably do best in a home with older kids so I dont accidentally knock over or scratch little ones during my zoomie moments.

Im a really good boy in my kennel and keep my indoor space nice and clean. I currently use my outdoor run to go potty, so I seem to be picking up house training routines very well. Im still young and learning, but Im eager to please and happiest when Im spending time with my people.

Im neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find a family that will help me continue building confidence and feeling safe. If youre looking for a loving, loyal best friend with a gentle soul and playful side, I might just be your guy.
