Rox | 1-Year-Old Lab/Cattle Dog Mix | Playful Goofball Looking for Her Happy Ending
Rox is a one-year-old Lab/Cattle Dog mix weighing about 38 pounds, with a beautiful black-and-white coat and a fun-loving personality. She’s a sweet, goofy girl who loves people and isn’t shy about asking for attention—often offering her paw or rolling over for belly rubs when she wants some love.
Rox is house trained and has had very few accidents in her foster home. She knows basic commands like sit, come, no, and paw, and she responds well to structure and clear boundaries. She walks fairly well on a leash but can get excited and pull at times. With her love of food, toys, and affection, she’s very motivated to learn and continue building her training.
She has a medium energy level and enjoys walks, fetch, playtime, car rides, stuffed toys, and chewing bones. After some activity, she's more than happy to curl up for cuddles. Rox has done well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends, though she does best with slow introductions because she can get very excited during play. She hasn't met children yet, but older kids may be the best fit while she continues working on her manners.
Rox can stay home alone and has done well when left with other dogs. She is kennel trained with encouragement and treats, though she may whine briefly before settling down.
Rox has been through a lot in her young life. After being hit by a car and later found as a stray with her newborn puppies, she recently underwent a left hind leg amputation related to her previous injuries. She is recovering beautifully and adapting very well to life on three legs.
Like most tripod dogs, Rox doesn't let her missing leg slow her down. She can still enjoy walks, playtime, and adventures, but because three-legged dogs place extra stress on their remaining joints, she would do best avoiding extremely long or strenuous hikes that could contribute to arthritis or future joint injuries.
Rox is a resilient, affectionate young dog who has overcome incredible challenges and is ready for a fresh start with a family to call her own.
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption.
