Meet Scribbles: Long Legs, Soft Eyes, and a Clever Little Brain
Scribbles is a 3–4 month old Mini Lab/Whippet mix with long legs, a gentle soul, and the kind of quiet charm that sneaks up on you. Rescued from the shelter alongside her sister Sketch, Scribbles has settled beautifully into foster life and revealed herself to be an affectionate, mellow puppy who simply wants to be near her people.
She may be young, but Scribbles already has the heart of a loyal companion. Wherever you are, she’ll find the nearest cozy spot, curl up beside you, and happily keep you company while you go about your day. She’s the definition of a velcro pup — not demanding, just deeply content being close to the humans she loves.
Daily Life with Scribbles
Scribbles sleeps quietly in her crate overnight and usually wakes around 6:30am with a soft little whine and a polite tug at the crate door. After a quick potty trip outside, she’s often ready for another hour of sleep before breakfast around 7:30am alongside her foster siblings.
During the day, Scribbles rotates between exploring the house, following her favorite person from room to room, and finding the perfect nap location nearby. Lunch is around noon and dinner is around 7:30pm, and afterward she enjoys some playtime before settling back in for another snooze.
She’s currently learning both potty pads and outdoor potty routines, and her foster family is helping her build good habits with lots of consistency and encouragement.
Sweet, Gentle, and Easygoing
Scribbles has an especially tender personality. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she becomes incredibly loving and attached. In fact, she’s so people-oriented that sometimes she’s more focused on where you are than on eating her food — she prefers having company during mealtime.
She’s wonderfully mellow for a puppy and doesn’t seem interested in chaos or nonstop antics. Instead, she prefers gentle exploration, cozy naps, quiet observation, and staying near her people. She loves to people-watch from a distance, sitting quietly and curiously observing the world around her.
Dog Friends and Home Life
Scribbles currently lives with two small resident dogs. One prefers to keep to himself, which Scribbles respects completely. The other is slowly becoming her play buddy, and their friendship is clearly starting to blossom.
Clever Girl Energy
Don’t let the soft expression fool you — Scribbles is secretly very clever.
First, she somehow escaped her playpen without moving the door or shifting the pen even an inch. One second she was contained, the next she was casually standing beside her foster family like nothing had happened.
Then came the discovery that she had learned how to slide open a room’s sliding door all by herself.
She may be mellow, but there’s definitely a tiny mastermind hiding behind those puppy eyes.
Why We Love Her
What makes Scribbles special is how peaceful she feels to be around. She’s sweet without being demanding, affectionate without being overwhelming, and curious without being chaotic. She has the kind of presence that makes a house feel softer and calmer just because she’s in it.
If you’re looking for a puppy with a gentle heart, loyal nature, and just enough cleverness to keep life interesting, Scribbles may be your perfect match.
