**Now fostered in Portland, OR**
Sweet as can be with a side of goof to keep you smiling, this is Hank and he is already a very good boy in training.
Go watch Hank the Happy-Go-Lucky Sidekick on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this easy, lovable puppy who is sure to be a joy to raise. https://youtu.be/L9RZycAFl9U?si=z5oAhhMf7n8wkdsy
Hank is about 6 months old and currently weighs around 36 lbs, with some growing left to do. Breed is a best guess- possibly a lab pittie mix, but his temperament is clear… Grade A Certified Best boy! He’s a real good one. Because Hank has been fostered in a loving home he comes essentially pre-packaged with the standard house manners package including being house and crate trained. He is respectful of furniture, settles nicely indoors, and doesn’t need constant activity to be content.
He’s very people-friendly and greets new faces calmly. He’s not overly jumpy, takes treats gently, and can still be picked up and carried. After playtime, he’s happy to lay down and relax, showing a great off-switch for a puppy his age.
On leash, Hank is off to a beautiful start. He walks easily, needs minimal correction, and is very treat motivated, which makes training straightforward. As he grows, he’ll need continued guidance, but he’s eager to learn and very attentive.
With other dogs, Hank is social and playful. He can be a little enthusiastic at first, but he adjusts quickly. He would do well with a medium-energy adult dog who can play while also helping guide him.
Hank has lived with a cat, but he assumes everyone wants to play. His foster shared the her cat and Hank had a pretty hilarious approach to play together but we understand not all cats welcome that. He’ll need a dog-savvy cat and an adopter willing to help him learn the boundaries that align with the resident felines.
In his foster home, Hank has shown he can thrive in a variety of environments. A home with a yard would be great, but an apartment could also work with the right commitment to exercise and continued socialization. He has the personality of a dog who would love to join you on outings, patio hangs, or weekend adventures… confident, happy, and ready to be part of the fun.
Hank is that sweet spot puppy… young enough to grow with you, but already showing all the signs of becoming an incredibly well-rounded companion. He’s learning, he’s trying, and he’s doing it all with a sweet sweet heart and a happy tail.
If you’re looking for a puppy who is equal parts playful, thoughtful, and ready to be your everyday sidekick… Hank is ready to grow up right by your side.
