Boone is a handsome 48-pound doodle who is currently discovering that life can be a whole lot better than he was led to believe. Estimated to be around 4 years old, he arrived in rescue carrying the evidence of his pastseverely matted, uncomfortable, and battling a skin infection after spending years as an outside dog. These days, Boone is feeling much better and slowly learning that being loved is actually a pretty great arrangement.
At first, Boone can be a little unsure of himself. He approaches new people and experiences with the thoughtful caution of someone who has learned that its wise to gather information before making decisions. He likes to take things in, assess the situation, and determine whether you're worthy of his friendship. Fortunately, the approval process becomes much easier once he realizes you're kind.
Beneath that uncertainty is an incredibly sweet and social dog who wants very much to connect. You can almost watch the wheels turning as Boone gathers confidence little by little. Every new experience, every gentle interaction, and every success seems to help him realize that the world may not be such a scary place after all.
His name suits him perfectly. Theres something steady and grounded about Boone. Hes not interested in being the loudest dog in the room or demanding attention from everyone he meets. Hes simply looking for his peoplethe ones who will cheer him on as he continues to grow into the dog he was always meant to be.
One of the most rewarding things about Boone is watching him discover his own potential. The more comfortable he becomes, the more his personality shines through. Moments of curiosity become moments of confidence. Hesitation slowly turns into trust. And those victories, no matter how small, feel worth celebrating.
Boone is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and negative for heartworm and tick disease on his 4DX test. Healthy, healing, and ready for a fresh start, he is looking for a family willing to give him the patience and encouragement he deserves.
If you have a soft spot for gentle souls and believe that confidence grows best when it's nurtured with kindness, Boone may be the perfect companion to join your next adventure.
