Kale is not your average leafy green. This 2-year-old scruffy terrier is 16 pounds of rugged good looks, strong opinions, and deeply loyal companionship wrapped up in one very handsome package. He may share a name with a health food, but Kale is significantly more fun and considerably less likely to ruin your lunch.
Kale is the kind of dog who believes trust should be earned, not handed out like free samples at the grocery store. With his people, he forms solid, meaningful bonds and settles in as a loving, devoted companion who wants to be part of your world. With strangers, though, he prefers a slower introduction process—less “nice to meet you” and more “please submit your application and allow 3–5 business days for review.”
And honestly? We respect a dog with boundaries.
Once Kale knows you, he’s wonderfully cooperative with the people he trusts. Baths? Fine. Brushing? Acceptable. Hanging out with his favorite humans? Absolutely. But scary situations like vet visits or grooming appointments can bring out a little extra seasoning in his personality. He’s not trying to be difficult—he’s just very committed to advocating for himself in moments that feel overwhelming. Tiny scruffy union representative energy.
Kale thrives with patient people who understand that relationships are built over time and that loyalty like his is worth the investment. Beneath that cautious exterior is a smart, sensitive little guy who genuinely wants connection—he just prefers quality over quantity when it comes to his social circle.
And let’s be honest, the scruffy face helps. It’s hard to hold a grudge against a dog who looks like he just walked out of an indie film about self-discovery.
Kale is already neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative on his 4DX for heartworm and tick-borne disease, so he’s fully ready for his forever home.
If you’re looking for a devoted sidekick with personality, charm, and a little bit of spice mixed into all that sweetness, Kale is ready to grow on you—in the best possible way.
